I originally decorated my foyer with a more elegant feel with the chandelier, black banister, black table in this nook with a mirror above it. My house has more a causal/natural feel to it, so I am looking to update the foyer to feel more like the rest of the house. I am planning on replacing the baseboards, and would have loved to take out the wall to open up this nook, but that would involve fixing the wood floors where the wall comes out (and were not sure what's in the bulkhead) and we can't fit that in the budget. Any suggestions for lighting, furniture, items for the wall? Only thing I don't want to do it put a coat rack in this area - I want to keep this uncluttered, and we do have a coat tree in the corner you can't see.
