I like what you have started on that cement slab right now. The only thing I would maybe add is a small bistro table and two chairs.....a great place to sit with morning coffee or afternoon happy hour.

It could be jackhammered up and removed, and grass planted there. I don't think there's any good way to use that area unless you're the one who put it in for a specific purpose.

I would add a white pergola over the front windows and make it a quaint seating area with potted plants, bistro table;) This photo is an example but I would of course put up a pergola to scale;)

I would remove the concrete and add flower beds. You can also remove the front walk and reface the steps with a thin veneer stone.

Plant a shrub between the slab and the steps. You also need more height in the plants in the tubs. Create a garden bed in front off the seating slab so that the area is less exposed and you feel like you are sitting in a garden. Some more plants and a bit of time and it will be a lovely spot to sit. Sorry I can't suggest specific plants as I don't know where you are but look at other gardens in your neighbourhood to see what does well and ask for advice at the garden centre.

Cute house. Have you considered more substantial window boxes above the patio such as below but with smaller supports: If you want more interest, you could install a black window box in which case I would also paint your shutters and railings black.
