Just be aware that the current kitchen system ikea sells is being replace with a new system (these systems will not be compatible with each other)

In Canada it's coming out in February of 2015 so I would assume the USA market would either be before or around the same time.

Here in Europe they have already changed them - the Ramsjo is replaced with one the exact same style - 'Laxarby' but the doors are larger - and toe kick smaller ! There's a Metod ( that's the new range) drawing on my pro page if you want to see the different look with smaller toe kick !!

I have used Ikea cabinets for clients for almost 20 yrs and many of those kitchens are still in great shape, these have been installed in all price ranges of homes and some of my clients tell me that the kitchen is what sold the home. As with anything else they need to be installed perfectly so make sure your installer is picky or if you do it yourself take the time to be exact. This Ikea kitchen was in my home, it is now 15 yrs. old and the new owner still loves it, by the way to get this custom would have been about 50,000 we did the whole thing for less than 15,000 neither of these prices included appliances.

I recommend strongly not using Ikea for kitchen cabinets. Mine were a mess within 6 months and I am very careful. For example, my washing machine is over 25 years old and still working! Ikea's cabinets peel, unlike Lowes.
