Built-in cabinetry

We are wanting to put in built in cabinetry flanking the sides of the fireplace. But, we don't know what to do on the right hand side because of the French doors....Any suggestions?

I don't think you have enough room to do the built-ins on the right hand side because of the french doors. I can't see from the picture- but if there is another door- ( I only see one) then it seems like you'd have to close off that door to make the wall match the wall on the left hand side of the room. It seems like an odd place to have that door- can it be moved?

http://houzz.com/photos/336491 What about some type of panelling or wainscoting? It may add the feeling you are looking for while not interfering with the door.

There are actually 3 doors here is another photo.
Thanks for the picture I do like the idea of more wainscoting. that gives me a good visual. Any other suggestions?

I've seen pictures of built-in cabinets flanking the fireplace and luv them. So, to extend on Laura Gilliland's idea above i would take out one french door and put in a finish wall there

You could finish off the fireplace with stone or modern tile to make it a focal point and hang narrow pictures on each side with a table or small cabinet on the right and a plant or sculpture on the left to give balance.

You could do one built in on the right that is half the size, so the door can still open. Otherwise, I would remove those doors.

Built-ins On both sides would make in there look even richer. The doors is what's killing the idea. Is it possible to see all the doors? Look as if you have 3 sets. Is parting with one set an option?

If you find that built-ins won't work, you might consider extending some wainscoting up the center bump out and then doing some sort of fun wallpaper (maybe trellis) on the two adjacent walls. Good luck!
