No trim window finish

I'm wondering how you finished the windows without trim. We would love to do this on the house we are currently building. Our builder is talking about using "L" metal which would be exposed and possibly painted. Not loving this idea. Worried the paint will peel from the metal. Would love any input regarding how you did it. Your windows are done beautifully.

    Hi,
It would be easier for me to send you a detail
Than to explain this in words. So, if you could
Email me directly I would be happy to send the
    Info.
The L metal is used at outside corners of
Sheetrock walls and the taping, mudding,
Sanding leave only the very smallest amount
Of metal at the corner. But this is easiest when
There is a significant return - and unless your
Wall is really thick there is not much of one.
So I use a piece of hidden wood trim that
Runs in plane with the Sheetrock wall
Is slightly shaped to allow the tape to ride
Over it and the wood forms the outside corner
Instead of metal. Paint adheres better to wood
    Than to metal.
These are vulnerable corners and I usually
Suggest using a really narrow trim and painting
It the color of the wall. It holds up better over
Time. The applied trim is also less expensive
    Than my trim less detail.
If you'd like to see the detail, send me an email.
    Thanks for the question.
