help finish my living room....PLEASE!

I love gray....as you can tell by my photos. I have a gray sectional and dove gray leather chairs. The stone that is going on my fireplace is gray tones and the built-ins will be enameled white like my wood work. Please help me "finish" this room. I can't find a rug that I like and I don't know what to do for an ottoman in front of the couch and end tables. I know I need my POC (pop of color) and could achieve that with pillows, throws, etc. I am also attaching photos of the DR and kitchen as all these rooms flow into each other.

I would definitely look into getting some nice white curtains for the large window or perhaps some curtains with a very subtly design. Try placing the leather gray chairs against the wall where the window is and adding a very side table in between them. This would mean you would have to turn the couch around. In terms of finding a rug, just make sure its large enough that it ties both the couch and leather chairs together. I like the rug in your dinning room. Maybe you can try to see if that would work in your living room? If it does you can swap them or maybe even buy the exact same one. I know you're only asking for living room advice but i think your dinning room would look better if you would place some cool upholstered chairs at the ends of the table and place the four black wooden chairs in between. It would make your living room look livelier. Overall, you have a great space to work with. Hope this helps.

Yea I agree.... Sheer panels and flip the sofa around add a table and lamp. And a brighter pop of color thru the living room. I agree the rug in the DR would look nice in the LR. The white would look nice in there with white window treatment. And as I said maybe a pop of bright color.

I like the white chairs! Cool!
I'd pull them in closer to the couch and get a big, modern-but-rustic coffee table. You can add color with art books on the table, a snazzy area rug would create a nice conversation "island."
Don't worry about the POC. This can look contrived. Better to arrange your room and then add a few pieces (in different colors or styles) that will give it depth and history. I was thinking a painted Moroccan side table with the white chairs. Some oriental rugs have a "modern art" appeal that would compliment your modern style.
Think about painting your cabinets black or cobalt rather than white. It doesn't need to match your door frames.
Nobody wants a house that looks like a furniture store window, or looks like everything was made the same week in china. I hope.
Mixing it up makes you seem more well-travelled, confident, and tasteful. If you see a big bunch of purple lucite grapes from the '60s, grab 'em. They would look great on your big coffee table!

Love the advice about flipping the couch and chairs around. I'm going to try that. I plan to add upholstered chairs to the DR...still looking for the right ones. I don't think the DR rug is big enough to use in the LR. It's 8x 10 and in order to incorporate the chairs and couch on the rug, ive been looking for a 9x12. Thanks so much for your advice!! What kind of ottoman do you suggest for in front of the couch?

Keenplanner....I was considering doing those built-in cabinets the same color as my center island which is called "storm"....what do you think of that instead of white? Thanks for your advice!

LOVE the gray, white and black with beautiful wood floors! Definitely white or subtle panels, maybe something that could draw in an elements of color. West Elm has several options that would work well in your space.
