    I imagine she moves the vase inside when she'd like to close the window. The window threshold has a bit of depth but probably not enough to accommodate the vase outside. - FGY

    Yeah, it looks like they're on the second floor, so that would be bad if the vase fell out. She'd have to move it out of the way when she closes the window.
