We wanted walnut flooring. When we were choosing types of walnut our floor installer mentioned he had a walnut #2 in stock that he would like to get rid of. Apparently #2 meant that it was an imperfect wood - with knots, grain changes, etc. Once we had seen it we really felt like it would add personality to the house and floors by not trying to hard to be perfect. I assume you can get this fairly easy, but haven't had to approach floor installers since so not completely sure. Thanks for the question!
