OMGosh! Go for it! I think it would be fun and different from your friends, right? You can always paint it out when you tire of it and what a perfect area to do something like this.

The table looks like it will compliment a whole range of colors. Pick a color you love and go on the bold end. Make it fun for your family members as they enter. Good luck!

We say YES to stenciling, but maybe we are biased ;) And we LOVELOVELOVE your furniture stencil hehe (the Adana Abstract Floral Furniture Stencil). Depends what you want to do - you can stencil but still stay neutral with tone on tone metallic and flat matching finishes still has visual interest. Or can you go bold with tone on tone color, contrasting color, and even mixing patterns! I say it might be too busy to do the whole wall...try accent color from the table for that wall and then maybe a line of the stencil just above the table and below the window in contrasting color?

Table is awesome, I would put a burlap roman blind and would use a similar design from your stencil for the tape on blind or some other curtain with ribbon tape feature, wouldn't distract too much from that lovely table but compliment it

The stenciling is amazing! Great job! I would not add any more stenciling to the room, but also recommend painting the room something that coordinates with the color of the wood and the white of the stencil.

Instead of the table, I would make it into a bench (for sitting down while you put on boots, etc.). If it's open under the bench, you could use it for shoe storage, etc. I would not stencil, it seems like an 80s thing to do. I would paint a bright color.

What did you end up doing? I think your original idea of repeating the stencil but with tone-on-tone instead of a bold color would look AMAZING. Pictures, please!

That's a fairly busy pattern. I just read this amazing idea of using mat paint on the walls, and stenciling with high gloss of the same colour. It added depth and interest without being too busy. I think stenciling that pattern in brown against the taupe would be too much...

I think stenciling the entire wall would be too much. How about doing a horizontal strip either at chair-rail height or along the ceiling-wall junction area only?

I like the idea of repeating the stencil with a wall stripe, not the whole wall.

You have a nice sized mudroom. I agree with those who suggest some sort of seating and cabinetry. I'd add: a place to put muddy or wet boots and a generous rug to catch whatever walks in the door on the bottom of shoes & paws.

I would say go for it! Since it is so bustle you could get by with a much bigger pattern. And maybe even similar/same paint colors just different sheens???

Stop the madness!!!! Don't stencil anything else. Get rid of that horrible piece of folky art business by your light switch- put in a more modern light switch. Complement your stencil table with a complementary tone of a nice simple Roman shade.

Try the stencil in miniature around the window frame and on the sill!!! Just the right amount to tie the two together, without making the room seem busy....Love your stenciling skills!!!

I would get rid of the curtain and whatever wood cut -out is on the wall, change light switch and paint walls a vibrant color that is complimentary to the wood and that you love ( my choice would be a clean bright blue of the sunny sky or robin egg). If you don't do vibrant, you can go with a soft mossy green, just keep the color clean ( without black pigment in the formula, otherwise it may just look dirty and old in the old house).
Stenciling seems to be outdated, even for a country look...

I vote for stenciling the wall!
