Storage, storage storage!

We are moving (and downsizing) into a 1940's bungalow in Jan 2015. It has no storage at all. It is 4 rooms, tiny laundry, small bathroom and unlined sunroom and that's it. Where do I put linen, extraneous pillows and duvets, clothes, cleaning products, brooms, vacuum cleaner? We have very little capital to renovate. The rooms are so small we can't keep most of our current furniture. The living room won't fit our lounge suite and we are giving up the dining suite as well. I've run out of floor space for cabinets. Please help, I'm dreading the move. What do I do for storage in this house?

The only renovations we can afford to do will be painting to lighten the dark interior, floor coverings - polished floors and tiles to replace the grey linoleum and some basic rearranging of the kitchen and bathroom fixtures to make them more user friendly.

In the 2nd thumbnail pic add cabinets above the sink. To save on expenses buy them used at Restore (Habitat for Humanity) stores. Hard to tell of that picture though whether the cabinet under the sink has doors. If they don't (I highly doubt it) then remedy that situation.

Thanks Curt, the kitchen is shambolic. I don't know whether to use the old cupboards and just repaint them or rip them out and use my 1940s freestanding kitchen cabinets. The rooms are so small floorspace is at a premium.

Show pics if your freestanding cabinets...what you should do is go thru each room and purge/yard sale anything and everything you do not LOVE or absolutely need. I know it's hard to give up stuff. Of course more pics of each space will aid in giving advice. I think you can make this new home really charming. Will the tall white cabinet go in laundry room?

The ceilings look fairly tall, so since floor space is limited and no money for renovation, get open shelving (like closet shelves) for up high storage. Not great looking, but until you can reno or get something more suitable, it will give you off floor storage. Also for seasonal clothing/extra blankets/towels, etc, those packages that use a vacuum to suck out the air really save a lot of space.

Thanks so much for taking the time to help me. I will use the white cupboard in the laundry and I'm taking all your ideas on board, especially the overhead cupboards. Can you suggest
how I could do this in the bedrooms (2 only) without it looking weird. I've got 2 1920/30s freestanding wardrobes but they won't hold all my clothes or shoes. The room is 12' x 14'. I've attached the pictures of my other furniture as requested. These are the only storage I have. What happens to the linen and the stuff in the broom cupboard - vacuum cleaner, brooms, dustpans, steam mop, carpet cleaner and cleaning products? All my husband says is "let me think about it"!
