I have a drum pendant very similar and it is "covered" on the bottom - kind of like a flexible plastic/fabric material. This looks like it has the same type of covering. It really helps to diffuse the light from the bulbs. I also have mine on a dimmer switch. My pendant came from Crate & Barrel.

This pendant is from Room and Board.

It says zinnia garnet but it is not the garnet. Would love to know which Galbraith & Paul zinnia it is. I love the brown in it but all the color choices I see now do not look like this one. Wondering if this is a discontinued color?

Select 24 Round 9 H Pendant from the Style menu and select "Cool" from the Color menu and I think you will see this fixture.

Oh so the color is "cool"
