Hi, as you thought White Princess is a granite (shown in the last image below), there are also quartz counter tops that you may consider from Ceaserstone and Silestone as shown in the images below.

I was searching for Carrera marble on Saturday, and came across slabs of Mystery White. Wondering if anyone has experience with this. I had never heard of it. I was looking for Carrera without much veining and Mystery White is, well, white. I'm using it on a white wood "hutch" in my new kitchen. The other counters will have Absolute Black with oyster gray cabinets.

I'm doing White Vermont quartzite on my island and countertops. It is also called super white and other names. Doing carrera 4X12 subway tiles for backsplash and a marble grayish herringbone inset over cooktop. The white vermont is really pretty. That granite looks similar to the white vermont. It is hard to find.

I just purchased "White Storm" granite from Brazil. White with gray veining with pea-sized pearls of maroon garnet scattered throughout the veining. Beautiful! Can't wait until it is on the countertops, having a chiseled edge. I wanted CArrera marble, but couldn't chisel the edges and it is a little soft. Tho, Europe has lasted quite some time with marble. I just loved the white storm tho as soon as i saw it.

@ Penthousenester: Mystery white is a great marble. I wouldn't use a marble for the whole kitchen, but on a hutch, it should be fine. It will looks great against the Absolute black.

hi there i just came from a company that sells super white and they say its a marble im confused cause everyone is calling it different and i would love this counter for my kitchen can u help

It may be a marble that's also called Super White...sometimes names can be used for two different things. However, if it looks exactly the same, then it's definitely quartzite. No question about it. I work with about 10 distributor suppliers. 5 or 6 have it filed under quartzite, and the other have it filed under granite because they just haven't updated their websites since quartzite started getting described as quartzite instead of granite. It's harder than many granites.

I would recommend sealing it once a year. It's a very easy process that takes on a few minutes and just stops things from absorbing. Have you tried looking on the Find Local Pros section of houzz to find a fabricator near Vancouver? Look for one that has a wide variety of stones in their portfolio, and they will probably know where to buy it for you.

The retail outlet where you purchase the quartzite seals it for you when they install it...Ours was $83.00 per square foot...We are located in Omaha, Nebraska

I live in the San Francisci Bay Area and am intros same process. One granite/marble store told me super white is a marble and same durability as Carrera marble. Another told me it is slightly more durable. How to I know who to believe? I have small kids so durability is a concern but I love the look of Carrera and now this super white. Any other thoughts? (@granite grannies)

My super white counters have been installed for 5 months now and I LOVE them! I promise you it is a QUARTZITE not a marble! It does look similar to Carrera marble (I have a Carrera coffee table in the living room) BUT it is much stronger than marble (that's why I chose it over the marble)...Here in Omaha you are required to "sign off" on any marble that will be installed in a kitchen because of all the water marks and etching that happens to marble. I know the super white is NOT a marble because there was no "signing off" process when we purchased them like there would have been with a marble...TRUST ME it's a quartzite!

Super White is a Dolomite Marble (not quartzite). It will etch, and is not even as close to durable as granite. I think this article would be of interest for anyone being misled to thinking that Super White is very durable:

Super white (Quartzite is most durable than any other natural stone.) It does not stain does not need sealing does not etch with acid and takes heat. Super White or super white Premium are both very similar to carrera marble . Tiles are very difficult to find. You must have them cut off your original slab to get a match Unlike marble or granite. As this grows in popularity, I think you will find true precut quartzite.

Princess white is beautiful granite very similar to quartzite but needs sealing and will stain. My experience, there is a confusion with true quartzite and quarts. I think this is where the confusion leads to true quartzite performance. You have to make sure the slab your are purchasing is true quartzite..."""another idea ...you can put lighting under the actual counter top and the light will shine through Quartzite like a nightclub bar...""".

For those of you on this, can you list your several year experience with super white now?

We installed super white in June and had it sealed. It is beautiful! Although we have been extremely careful w it, we have already noticed a few spots and rings left from cups. Just beware and don't think that it's durable like granite - because it's not. You have to be ok with patina over time.

Thanks Shelly! I have to make a decision in a few days. I'm ok with patina. Just not ok with red wine stains! Almost sounds like water etches it more than anything.

Quartzite is not quartz, marble or granite. It's a different kind of stone, also very durable if sealed yearly. Don't bring a wrong decision because of the lack of information. Always have in mind that you have both Super White marble and Super White quartzite. Also, different fabricators have different names for the same product and the same names (like Super White) for two different products. @tsibbitt- how are you super white countertops? stains? etching? water marks? I want it but so afraid!

I love cooking and have entertainment all of the time. Finalizing for our counter top have been difficult. Decision between MAYA Quartize and Visount White Granite ( it has a river movement)- for our 9 foot 1/2 moon island. I am concerned with the eching on the quartize. Dont feel to be cautious all the time when we have party - I am in love this MAYA - any advise?

@Aqua Kitchen and Bath Design Center: The website regarding durability of Quartize below are confusing since all of the big major company- labels this quartize " with ecthing and stain with a percentage more than granite" -this company has a very good reputation- I do not think they are trying to sell not purely and 100% quartize. hoping to get a clear information since I would love to install MAYA Quartize - if not then I would go with VISCOUNT Granite
