We have restored/remodeled the upper floors of our 1927 Sears house and now are tackling the basement. The previous owners refinished a small portion we use as our TV room and to display my husband's passion for baseball. The larger, unfinished portion houses our washer, dryer, an extra refrigerator, the furnace, storage, and our dog door entrance. We want to upgrade both portions, but leave the "utility" area, er, utilitarian, but clean. The major dilemmas we need help with (in order) are: The uneven floor--how to upgrade to a cleanable surface? The lighting--what works in a dark, low ceilinged room? Would love to hear suggestions!
