Hi there! You have a good space here...here are a few suggestions: Choose a different bed spread set that comes with a bed skirt you can hide that bed frame legs. Adding draperies on the window would create warmth in this room. Hang up that painting that you have on top of the desk up on that wall. the painting thats above the bed can go up a little higher.

I like this room. I think you could keep the lilac but I would look for a larger bedspread or turn this one sideways and lay it across the bottom of the bed. This will enable you to change your sheets to either white or a digital print bedding of flowers in lilac.Add some side rugs either side of the bed, a lamp with a lilac shade and some curtains. Love the look so far! I would raise that picture a little higher tho. I would add a contrasting throw blanket, perhaps some larger contrasting pillows too. Some nice glass look or silver/chrome lamps for the bedside tables would be a nice touch too. Good luck!

@ASVInteriors, I would prefer to keep the artwork so if something works with it other than the purple or all purple it would be great - This room still feels plain to me.... I would be willing to paint an accent wall?

I definitely think the room could use some drapes, making sure to place the rod high and the drapes on the outside edge the window (refer to this http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/psa-hang-curtains-high-wide-elements-of-style-170163). I would probably go white or just a light color in general (though maybe it's just because it's dark outside in the pic). If you can center the dresser on the wall in front of the bed I think that would help -- but I don't know if it would block the door or something.

If you were feeling really ambitious, I think painting the wall behind the bed a different color would make a nice accent wall. Maybe a much lighter cream color.

Oh and maybe a really nice plush/shag rug either under the whole bed or just at the edge where someone would step off. Again I would go light, probably cream or ivory.

Could you post a better picture of the artwork I would like to see what you have in there that could be used for alternative colours?

Biggest difference will be the bedding. With your art, I would head towards a bohemian feel. Tons of contrasting pillows, different textures and a throw at bottom of bed, etc. The pictures below will give you an example of bedding. Add a large mirror and a chair is always needed. Paint walls last, picking up on a color from some of the bedding you have chosen to compliment your art. Add bamboo blinds and this room will be really cozy and different. Go to antique markets for unique items for the dresser and side table.

It appears that I'm echoing the theme of a light neutral decor. Since this is a guest room, it's generally a space that should be comfortable for both ladies and gentlemen. I love the family of purples, but with the French Country iron bed and white furniture, it looks more like a child's room than a guest room. And, although you said you would prefer to keep the art in this room, I think it's more suitable for a master bedroom.

I would create an ambiance around the French Country iron bed. New bedding, window sheers, a mirror over the dresser (every guest needs a mirror) and a taller lamp on the nightstand that balances out the space between the bed and the table would really pull this lovely room together and make it a stylish, cozy place for a guest.

Not sure this would be my pick for art for a guest room, especially if grannie and grandpa are visiting. May make them a bit uncomfortable. Interesting though!

To add quick pizazz to the room either paint one wide horizontal lilac stripe around the entire room or wide stripes on the wall behind the bed as an accent.

Is that a take-off of a Klimt? I have seen this with a green background but not in the reds and yellows of yours?Given the rich colours in the artwork, you could pick on the burnt red and use that instead. But as Klimt is rich and eclectic, I would add more black and yellow accents as well.So, imagine a bedcover in the burnt red, add a black and yellow cushion on it. Then add a throw at the bottom of the bed in deep purple.Working your way around the room. Purple velvet drapes (I think you can find these at IKEA) with red or purple tie. A black rug by the bed. If you like the painting keep it and work around it.You can stick to a very neutral base and work with your taupe and white with very minimal black accents and then let the Klimt be the colour in the room

I enjoyed the style of the guest room. However, I would remove the chandelier because it doesn't match the style of the room. I would also recommend changing the color walls into a cream color to match the tone of your room. Overall, I love the uniqueness.
