One more photo looking into the living room that is pictured

The color certainly works, but just to make it a bit different and as you have blues in rug (I think) and in living room maybe a soft grey/blue would make the dining room more defined. Adjoining rooms don't have to be the same color, as long as they are in the same intensity. You could reupholster your seat covers with this blue and cream. As well, bring in some blue into your kitchen with a mat, a picture on the wall, etc. You could also consider painting the walls in the kitchen the same color?

I thought of the blue-gray color as well @ Maureen, however, color experts shy away from blue in kitchen and dining room because that color is said to depress the appetite. I think there is some truth to the mood a color creates. The warmer terracotta would be more lively in a gathering space. (This said from a person who really does like certain shades of blue.)

Your house looks lovely and I like the muted creamy colour. If you want to change a bit, you could paint the skirting board and the door frame in a nice dark brown similar to the table top or choose a different colour of your liking...I really would like to come over for dinner. ;-)

Since your dining room seems to be isolated - I would paint it a soft acid green - Benj-Moore 2029-60: its a very soft apple green that is very compementary to the blues in the Liv. Room but it also plays off the natural greens from the outside which will expand visually the dining room. Accessorize with bold blues.

I have always thought that blues/greens don't work in dining rooms and kitchens for that reason- they aren't good for the appetite. Haha Tina-thank you for the kind words! Much appreciated.

Not necessarily true - it depends on the tone and how it is used. Yellows and Blue combos have been so French Provencal in kitchens for years!!! Think blueberries, applies, limes - think nature! Everything in moderation

Give it a pop of color with Sherwin Williams 6605 Charisma or a Modern neutral such as SW 6354 Armagnac.

Another vote for a soft terra cotta color here. I would put it in the kitchen as well as the dining room. Here are a couple of ideas to get you started:

I also think a darker, warmer colour. This room is BM Tyler Taupe with BM Cloud White trim.

I agree with Tina, a nice taupe dark brown would look spectacular with your classic/rustic table and chairs and french decor. It would pop the room and make it luxurious...add a few pops of colour!
