Thank you for your help. I would appreciate any other suggestions in design as we are just now making final decisions regarding kitchen cabinets, table, island, furniture placement.. Pressure is on and I am a total rookie.

Place the tv over the fireplace, at a reasonable height, to keep these two dual focal points together.

TV hidden in cabinet next to the fireplace. Have you ever watched a TV that was mounted over a fireplace? Neck strain!

I could spend a couple minutes typing or simply second each one of Dytecture's suggestions. They are right on point!

I agree with Dy plus there's a lot of wasted space. You can label it what you want but the front of the living room is basically a travel way to get to the coat closet from the front door. Get the master bedroom door into some kind of niche or neutral space and off of that long wall along the living room.

Here's 5 minutes worth of suggestions: Move the closet near the door where it wants to be, define an entry with a wide (10") knee wall with a bulkhead above, place a TV in a nice set of built ins centered on the furniture grouping, center the living room window on the furniture grouping so the window relates to the room (I realize this means reconfiguring the porch but that's easily handled by anybody with any design talent), move the fireplace down to the end of the built ins but tie it in to the built ins with details so that whole wall/fireplace/hearth/shelving/TV comes together as an eye pleasing unit as a central feature of the house. There's more space for another closet at the foyer (which has definition now) but maybe instead have a beverage fridge conveniently located near the TV area and maybe a bar sink (your choice), build a pantry by the garage entry and you still have a 5' wide entry back there.

Lot more stuff in the bedrooms and baths but focused on your question.

I too have many ideas, but with the home framed, it's too late to make changes :(

I'll share the first thing I noticed. Someone parking in the driveway has no way to enter the house without going through the garage, or walking around to the front or rear doors.

You are good, ppf. We added a door on that side of the house, beside the garage door.

The attached is a way to hide tv and not have it fight the Fireplace. You will have to incorporate shelving like floor plan shows. You will also have to go with maybe a direct vent fireplace based on your layout.
