We have Bosch double ovens and the cooling fan noise is minimal, I think. Not sure about decibels, but it's like having a very small USB desk fan on, and it doesn't last long. Our kitchen is open to the living room and dining, and we don't hear the fan when it's on unless we are standing in the kitchen.

Am planning on getting a double oven, and it seems like the ovens, especially the Kitchenaid have noise complaints. Have any of the manufacturers addressed this issue? I do not want to have a noisy oven.

Just found out that the Kitchen Aide Double oven we selected has been discontinued. The company is overhauling the look and logo. Won't be available for orders until late April or early May house is due to complete in April. Got a bad vibe so Went back to NE Furn Mart and reselected all appliances to GE Profile Series.

our 5 year old 30" kitchenaid wall oven isnt too bad but our new whirlpool 27" with integral microwave above is hellacious and engineering should all be fired.

if you leave it an inch ajar after you take dinner out the fan will stop sooner.

gotta keep all those fancy electronic stuff cool, apparently. pffft.

Thanks for the update. Which model were you looking at with the Kitchenaid? I was on chat with Kitchenaid today and they indicated that they were aware of the issues, but that was the extent of it. No comment on discontinuing or re-engineering it. I did see several posts that said that KA sent a kit to fix the fan to several people, but the chat person did not know anything about that. Thought I would check out the new Bosch with the side-opening doors. Any comments

We originally ordered the Kebs209bss double wall oven 30" stainless steel. It was pulled from stock and discontinued by Kitchen Aide. Bosch is supposed to be pretty good. But we currently have a GE profile fridge and love it so went with GE Profile for the new house.

Whatever you choose, I recommend not even considering a Whirlpool unless you like the sound of a jet engine in your house. My builder put that in (came with the house) and trust me, that baby will be replaced soon.

I had a 3 year old Frigidaire in my old house that I loved! Wish I'd been able to take it with us.

Not sure about the Bosch--I've seen good and bad reviews.

We remodeled last year and went from GE Profile convection, which I never had any problems with, to a Kitchenaid double convection. It wasn't until I got the Kitchenaid that I realized how quiet the GE was. The Kitchenaid is super loud! I still miss my GE!

DO NOT buy a KitchenAir Convention Micro/Oven Combo!!! The micro FAN is obnoxiously noisy! HORRIBLE. Even after just 30 seconds of reheating cold coffee, the fan will continue on blowing and vibrating for minutes. NO WAY AND WE WILL TRY TO GET AN EXCHANGE FOR THE DOUBLE OVEN.

I am at my wit's end! Do not buy at Whirlpool Built-In Electric Single Oven. That thing will not shut up. From the minute you turn it on until 40 minutes after you turn it off, the fan runs....whoosh, whirring or whatever you call it, the sound is like a plane getting ready to take off. And, the air coming out is ridiculously hot. Model #WOs51EC0AW02. I miss my previous GE oven I had for 17 years!!!

Same with the Whirlpool double wall oven. Intolerable noise and they refuse to acknowledge there is a problem. Customer Service (so called) told me I should have asked about the noise before I bought them! It's sounds like driving down the highway with the car windows down! Don't buy Whirlpool.

Ditto on the noise. I can't stand it! Whirlpool Gold 30" Double Oven. Very, very unhappy.

A couple months ago we installed the Kitchenaid with the fancy broiler microwave in the top oven. We are thrilled with how quiet it is compared to the 20 year old JennAir we had there before. I vaguely recall that when I was researching the product, I read that KA made a change over maybe last fall so the fans would be quieter .

brand new Frigidaire double ovens were just installed. The cooling fan is soooo loud and runs constantly up to an hour after its turned off. It hums, vibrates and goes up and down in pitch. We have a large kitchen and if ovens are on you cant even have a conversation. Frigidaire seems apathetic and scheduled a service 3 weeks from date I called. Frigidaire is made by Electrolux. Until they redesign, or you personally hear them running in a showroom avoid at all cost. What a pain. Will probably return ovens and do my research.

We bought a new house from Pulte with all Whirlpool appliances. We have 2 Whirlpool ovens and I can't even use them because of the noise. Sounds like a jet engine getting ready for takeoff (and I should know as I was a flight attendant). Had a tech come out and he told me it's the 'new normal'. Complained to Whirlpool on facebook and twitter and they said "sorry you are not happy with your oven". Yeah, right. Tomorrow we are cooking our turkey on the grill. This is nuts!!!!

I guess the jet engine thing isn't specific to just Whirlpool's ovens. Our Whirlpool washing machine started doing that after just 4 years. Would have put a jet engine to shame. I even had a neighbor call to ask what the noise was.

Whirlpool 27” single self clean wall oven installed under counter sounds like a haunted house whoooo machine, problem from first use. Fan has been replaced, sound checked with meter (louder 20 feet away than 10 feet away), and Whirlpool says it is “within parameters” and “case closed.” The Brick Canada, where I bought it, says it is a Whirlpool problem.

This oven is installed side by side with a Whirlpool convection oven, which technician says has a different fan and it is audible but quieter and not annoying. My fix is going to be replacing the plain oven with another convection oven and selling the noisy one. Buyer beware! Ironically I bought these ovens because the Whirlpool convection oven is highly rated by Consumer Reports. I guess they only make one good model - don’t buy any other one!
