I keep a microfiber cloth and clean up after each use. LOL

HI -- They are currently a trend ,but one that is going to stay . If you have a small bathroom and not much vanity counter space , then a vessel is not a good idea . There are ones that have a more shallow look instead of the ones that look like a salad bowl on a counter . I think one is ok in a powder room where you don't need to have counter space ,unless that room is used for overnight guests . I personally have never cared for them . I like under mount or molded one piece sink counter tops . Visit around to the kitchen and bath display showrooms to get a first hand look .

In our last house we put in a deep vessel bathroom sink and It was easier to keep clean than the usual. It was not glass though, which would be high maintenance. All the other bits and pieces were accommodated on a Caesar stone top which was very easy to wipe clean... and it looked fabulous..

I will say this and that is I would get it again if I had to do it all over. My bathroom is very small.

I do not have a vessel sink. Although I can see having one in a half bath powder room that only gets used when company's over, I would not have one in what might be called a "working bathroom." There are several reasons for this. First, they tend to leave much less counter space that is usable for cosmetics, toothpaste & brushes, and other supplies that tend to end up on the counter. Second, they are usually made of something that can break and if something were to fall out of the medicine cabinet (like ex-hubbies electric razor did now and then) it would probably shatter the bowl. Third, I have yet to find a vessel sink that has an overflow drain just in case one of the kiddies starts to fill the sink and runs off while it is running and forgets it. Finally, it adds extra surfaces to be cleaned. A regular sink you only clean the inside bowl. With a vessel, you clean the inside AND the outside.

Personal preference, but I don't see any real benefits of a vessel sink other than it looks more unique and sculptural.
