I need help in deciding what flooring to do in my basement please?

12 years ago
I had a flood in my basement due to frozen pipes and have to redo the floor, what shall i go with Carpet or wood laminate. I have a budget to consider. Would love to go with engineered wood but find it may be too expensive. Please advise.
