do the door in an accent color - lose the leather . . that makes it too heavy and dark - maybe get a slipcover for the nicer leather chair in a soft linen tone , maybe turn the sofa 90 degrees so you form a corridor to the door out - even put a slim sofa table there and use a pair of chairs across / one by the fire . . put the ottoman in front of the fire . . all dark whites, soft linens and a few olive tones . . it will look lighter and feel nicer . . great windows and light . .maybe a great sepia toned printed canvas of a favorite place - a series on the left wall . . television then on the wall where the leather chair sits now but on a swing arm closer to / over the hearth so it swings out to sit on an angle or tucks back into a quiet spot over an end table . . put it lower than over a fire / sitting eye height to middle will make it feel like some art behind the lamp - but move the lamp
consider vinyl wood plank floor or wood look plank tile in a driftwood / washed oak tone
this is timeless, will work well with your pretty door . . bring more light in . . i might lose the chairrail it cuts up the space but doesn't add
