I'm not sure of the lamp style and size. Also type of table. Thank you

Love the basket on the bottom and the way it echoes the chair. The plant is good, Try moving it and the low bowl about 6 inches to the left and get a taller lamp, or replace it with a tall vase that's about 2/3 the height of the mirror.

I would look for lighter more summery/beachy feeling furniture.

HI -- Hey that looks pretty good ... just replace lamp with some thing taller and bigger and a different style . Maybe a vase bottom in white or teal or glass or how about coral - wow that would be nice -- with a linen white or neutral textured shade. Something that will pop a little more . Onekingslane.com has lots to look at for one . I like your mirror and the table ... you could make the table darker or have a console a little wider in maybe a weathered wood ..more rustic like .. Restorationhardware.com has . But good job so far .. I like it !

    Hi Zig Zag,

I would love to see it all a more co-cohesive display. A linen or bamboo textured wallpaper behind the scene would tie it all together. At the moment it is reading as a collection of pieces rather than a great vignette.

Remove half of the items from the top of the console and you'll start to like it more right away. I vote to keep the lamp and fern and get rid of the other two smaller items that make it look cluttered. The basket below is very cool. The mirror may be a bit too large, so maybe hang it 4 inches higher to see if that remedies the heavy feeling.

Wonder if the mirror would look better if it was set landscape instead of portrait... Looks like it might be just as long as the table, so that might really do the trick! The current lamp will look taller if the mirror was positioned differently as well...

If the mirror is longer than the table nevermind what I said! Lol

Put tall plastic grass in the basket below, keep the lamp, keep the big plant of the right, take out the smaller thingys in the center and replace them with one very big book with hard cover and I'll pick a big red book to add some furious color. If you want after all that you can top the book with a small interesting brass or horn object. Like an interesting magnifying glass or little box.

If the mirror is looking to windows remove it. It's bad feng shui...

I would like to see the mirror hung horizontally if it isn't too wide..

The mirror is a statement piece. It appears in the picture to have an industrial feel . I agree with you that the teak table does not seem to fit as it does not have the same strength as the mirror in this location.. A table with more strength would balance the mirror - perhaps black leather with studded detail. You could then add a colourful lamp and decorative pieces

The mirror overpowers everything else. Maybe get a glass/metal table, 1/2 circle instead of rectangle might soften the look & let the mirror be the star. Then put just a few striking pieces on it. A glossy pop piece of pottery/sculpture with rounded shape/edges, a tall, thin, modern buffet lamp...maybe with a black shade...and a hot-colored orchid instead of the flower vase. It will emphasize the height of the mirror and reflect back nicely.

I think the top of the table is overcrowded. If I were rearranging this area, I would put the mirror landscaping way and keep the top of the table with only the Tifferny lamp and the basket from the bottom so that every single thing get their attention^^ Plants moves to the bottom. The chair...may be removed from the area or stays with colourful cushions or something. Happy rearranging!!!

I think it is over-eclectified! If there is any such word - no cohesion here except for the bowl and chair.

If it is a summer house I would opt for a fun painted console like those at paintedfurniturebarn.com along with a more comfortable chair that is large enough to sit on and tie your shoes or hold a guest's jacket and purse. love the sisal rug so find a lamp like those bennie shows above and that echoes your beach, lakeside or mountain theme depending on where your summer home is and style it with fun vacation photos, seaglass or driftwood finds and store some colorful throws on a lower shelf or in a nearby basket that are easy to grab for those chilly nights cooking smores by the fireside.

Remove the lamp and the two small pieces from the top. Move the plant to the left side of the mirror. Voila! Love the basket!

I like the look. But if you want the style to be more powerful, you can use a modern iron table instead of wood. They may be not the perfect products but I put some examples to show what I mean.
Also, you can choose a lamp that is mixture of modern and mid century styles.
Do not remove the chair and the decorative plants and plate. Love them.
Any way, if do not want to spend money, you can keep it as it is ;) You have a stylish entrence :)

First thing I'd do is remove everything off the top of the table. The basket on the bottom is fine. Where ever your summer home is located. I'd add touches from the area. Think light, airy. Less is more. Personally, I liked to see a larger lamp & a woven basket or wire basket to hold keys & not much else.

Remove everything from table. Add one item. To center like a silver bowl. Fill with green apples. And a tall narrow lucite lamp small shade . Remove chair not needed. Get a more colorful wool area rug. 5 x7 should work. Love the mirror.

Add that tall plant under table. That's it.

Try a smaller table, probably a semi circle or oval shape...two nice chairs on the side would look stylish too..but if you wish to keep this table I suggest that you rotate the mirror 180 degrees to match the shape of the table and place fewer stuff on it with the plant under it or on the ground :)
