You are right, they are the real thing. We got them in New York at an antique dealer. They are really pretty and graceful. We added height to the seat (about 2") because these chairs typically had 14-15" seat heights. Pretty low for our modern legs!

Thank you so much for the quick response. Are there any maker's marks that might identify the manufacturer? Thank you too for the great info on seat height. I have two Heywood-Wakefield chairs(see pic) that I love but they have the same issue. I am weighing my options as I get ready to have the cushions recovered. However the springs are in the frame not inside the cushions and I'm afraid of losing that comfy sit. Thanks again!!! Love this room.

Wow, now I REALLY have to thank you. This conversation prompted me to take another look at my chairs and I was wrong, there ARE springs in the seat cushions. I have some ideas...(giggles to self). You're the best!

You're funny. One thing I always do is use the props you have to help you determine
how high you want to make the cushion. Like putting a thin flat cushion unde the existing one, or newspaper and then wrap the whole thing with a fabric so you get the idea of what the finished cushion will look like and if you think it is the right proportion.
No there were no markings on the chair. We had them refinished (they were a weird red purple color) and we didn't see any identifying marks. Good luck
