We are just about to replace a handmade kitchen as we are having an extension. The original units are made from pine and painted - shaker style. We might possibly be able to reuse one block of units. For the rest we need new. We'd been thinking that we were stuck with plywood cabinets and get some nice doors, but then we found a company that makes reasonably priced units from oak. Is oak a decent choice for cabinets?
