Swapped dining room tables, both are from the same store, but the difference to me is amazing. At first, I wanted a heavy dining table that would anchor the space. I wanted it to feel more grown up. But the heaviness made me feel like it was a formal off-limits space and I was getting hardly any use of the table and the space in general. Because space is precious in condo living, I began by getting rid of the formal dining room chairs and replacing them with modern lighter ones. The second and last step was to switch out the table. Lighter furniture makes the room feel more open and welcoming, and encourages me to use it more often. I have friends who prefer the former table. What do you think?
