I will ask him about the large prints he might be interested in putting up. Since he will probably not be here very long, I'm thinking floating shelves so that he can pack them up when he moves on. He doesn't need alot of storage; he really travels light. Thanks again!

Get some posters of things he likes and put them in poster frames that are reasonably priced. A great place to find almot any sort of poster is allposters.com. Upgrade the paper for a high quality print. I've ordered several pictures from them that I've framed, and am very happy with them.

Your son's new space is the perfect size to create a hotel inspired design. The space will function and look sharp! To start, think about how a hotel room's furnishings are arranged. Reposition the bed out of the corner with the head against the wall, use the end table as a night stand, place table lamp in that table (beside the window wall). Trade/remove the futon bed and replace it a comfortable chair, not too big and possibly has casters to easily move around, place the stand-up lamp with the chair. Use the coffee table for the TV, this will also provide room for a game system, phone charger etc.. You can either purchase a headboard (Target has some really great ones) and/or framed poster art above the bed and on the wall beside the TV (don't create a collage of art, the space is too small). Look up online on how to hang at the right height. Purchase/have bedding and towels that are either white or colour, so that your son can minimize loads of laundry per week. Follow these simple design principals and your son's suite will look (and function) like a million bucks....finally, sit back, relax and enjoy!

Tack a printed shower curtain on the wall with push pins or tacks or if he likes music use old records held up by tacks as well. For the rest of budget get open white book shelves which also can be used for books as eye candy also tack post cards or pics on walls or hold with bulldog binder clips held by a pushpin. Here's what we ended up doing. He's happy with it so I am too. He's going to add a few more framed pieces but for now he's done. The curtains (sorry, no great pictures of them) made a huge difference.
