I am in the process of slowly redecorating a room. I just purchased a rug and would love input as to what wall color I should choose. It is currently a caramel color. I am having crown molding and new window casements installed in a few weeks and will need to have it repainted. Should I choose a paint color similar to what I currently have or go to a creamy white/off white color? (I have tested several creamy whites above the mantel). All room finishes will follow such as window treatments, pillows, new coffee table, etc. so right now my concern is wall color only. I thought I'd brighten with a creamy white but now that this rug is predominantly ivory as well, maybe it'd then have too much white. Please let me know what you think on best wall color. I've tested Linen White, Gentle Cream, Bone White, Dover White. Maybe I should try SW Restrained Gold? Thank you!
