Trying to add Modern Curb appeal by adding seating area

My wife and I recently purchased our first home!!!!! Looking to add character to front of the house with porch and any of your wonderful suggestions. I love sitting in the front and want to brig curb appeal. Open to all ideas.....Thanx in advance!!!!

Have a look at this Canadian House&Home article, you can see great resolution pix if you look it up online.
You could extend that idea to the right of your house, under the window to have a seating area.
Colour change, away from brown - railing change and some landscaping with some more modern accessories, like a lamp, house number etc, will bring it up to date very nicely.

a locally owned landscaping company would be a great starting point. There are probably code rules you may need approval for if structures are added. Good luck! It's a great looking house waiting to shine.
