It has a very colonial feel. The architecture is something you would see in a colonial home but the stainless and white ceaser stone counters as well as more modern pattern of the subway tile make the space more updated. SO its colonial but more modern thats all.

I dont think modern colonial is a specific design term, but just think colonial with modern touches. As far as color palettes, when I think colonial I think whites.

I know this is a late comment, but I associate colonial w/ east coast and early America, so I think of majority whites with touches of red and navy blues for patriotic feel and those color pallets also do well with nautical themes which I also associate w/ North Eastern coastal colonial homes.
