Houzz has many examples of wood dining tables paired with black chairs. The orange chairs "go" but seem predictable to me, I would go with black.

Yes, the black is too harsh IMO. Here's a chair that would work well with your rustic table:

No, don't get matching wooden chairs! It's so passe!
The examples the person above me gave are wonderful.
That being said black is a good choice and the black chair you showed does look good but if you want a great result go with a style like the ones pictured above (classic or sleek or midcentury modern).

matching is a no no. But I'm not in love with these chairs you are thinking either. Leather can be so dated. The table is beautiful. What about something like this…?

My table is still on order, so I can't post pictures sorry. I chose the seats because they are SO comfortable, and in my house comfort is key. Fabric is out since it would get stained in no time in my house.

Initially I wanted solid wood, but these were just so comfy!

Sounds like I'm ok not to match, and most people think I'm ok to go with black. It's just the style of chair that's up for debate. Thanks everyone!

Also, the chairs are very solid, so they can be stripped, stained and recovered if I hate them in a year or two

well thats okay! I would just find maybe a different style of comfy leather chair.

I like the gray leather idea, but not the black leather for a rustic table. Modern or industrial would be fun! Ideas:

The table is solid and chunky and so are the chairs you chose. I think you need chairs that provide a strong counterpoint to that blockiness:

So I guess I should clarify. I love those chairs. Style aside, I will be getting that chair because it fits me well, it is comfy, and I could spend hours visiting at the table in that chair. My question is on Color/stain. The company that makes the chair has countless stain/fabric options.

I was worried about going the same light wood as the table for fear of too much wood, not enough contrast/blending in. I would love white, but wouldn't be able to keep it clean.

Any further thoughts?

Go for the black ones you chose initially. I do like the shape. They do look sturdy, you like them, they are comfortable. What more could you want :-)

Here it is! Still not sure what I think, I need reassurance that they aren't TERRIBLE together.

I plan to get 2 more chairs for the ends also.

It's almost right, but the problem I see is that the chair backs look too low for the table.

I agree with Hatetoshop, the chairs are much too low for the table.

What about the black?

With that table, I'd be looking for something that was knocked together out of pallet stock; that table is way too rustic for those fine chairs.

I think pairing black chairs with that table is fine. Take another look at Maureen's suggestion (the Cape Cod photo) -- the backs of the chairs are higher, so aren't dwarfed by the table.

But as with any advice, it is simply the someone else's opinion. If you love the chairs with the table, then go for it.

More than anything it's the Color contrast I am unsure of. It's out of the box for me, I'm not very adventurous. I would be putting a long rectangular black planter on the table to tie it together. The higher chairs make a nice statement though

I love your table. And your black chairs with it is very good. But for the 2 end chairs, I would pick something different, bigger, and higher.

A dark brown leather would work better than black chairs with the table.

Keep the chairs you have and cover them with black and white print slipcovers.
