It's not a bold color at all--it's quite sedate when you really come down it to.

Much as I'm not a throw pillow fan, you need to find a couple with that shade of green in them, preferably in a pattern to help tie the couch into the feel of the room.

Do you have your curtains yet? If not, try to find something with some shades of brown in them as well.

You also won't feel so overwhelmed once you get some stuff on the walls so you see more than the green color. I would put a large panoramic picture about the sofa, and some smaller pictures on the rest of the walls. I would frame them in a dark brown such as walnut to coordinate with the couch and chair.

Well it is sort of bold for me, because i like more plain colors. I don't have curtains yet, but i am looking! (: Also i don't know if i really want to base everything around the brown couch, because as soon as i can get rid of it i will. I just found this couch, and it is for a reasonable price, what do you think about it in my space? (:

How about slipcovering the sofa, ottoman and chair? White like the couch you found. I love that wall color!!!!

I have been thinking about possibly doing that, i will have to look around and see where i can find some! (: Also so you don't think the white up against the white part of the wall won't look bad?

The wall color is lovely. You could always slipcover the couch you have.

I think white or a natural linen with some color in the pillows would be nice.

Well, this is why paint color always comes last. There are a bazillion paint colors--infinite when you consider you can custom mix--but only so many curtains, rugs, and pillows.

If you want to stay in this color range, I would suggest you find the curtains and art you want in the space, and then consider that you might have to repaint in a slightly different shade.

Gorgeous paint color! The brown couch could be lightened up with some bright throw pillows, or as others have suggested you could look for an inexpensive slipcover.

Depending on how much more color you want to add in the room, some punches of coral or orange would look gorgeous. If you'd like to keep it more neutral, keep in the white, tan, or maybe grey color families.

c_designs....no I actually love a lot of white in a room. I think it would look great and as mentioned above your drapes, some throw pillows and artwork with that color will look great.
What is the brand anc color of the paint? Maybe search HOUZZ for rooms with that color and see how they are decorated.

Ok, thank you for all the suggestions everyone! Do you think i should just change the color to maybe a more numeral blue color so i can do more color? If not, what color do you think i should do my dining room (you can see it in my second picture). Should i maybe paint it the same color, and try to do a type of chic neutral in both rooms? (:

c_designs.....I like the idea that groveraxle posted of solid curtains.....a linen would look really nice. And then some pillows with the mix of natural linen, white and the wall color. I really do like that wall color with the white sofa!!!! So fresh...

OH....for curtains.... I thought of the linen/linen look solid to help keep a neutral background for decor pieces to take center stage....art over your couch? A very cheap idea for drapes.....Home Depot or Lowe's for the drop cloths! Look like linen and wash so great! I did that after reading about that on a couple of design blogs! Wash the drop cloths 3 - 4 times with some bleach to soften the fabric, iron them out, measure and cut. I hung mine from the ring clips. LOVE them.

Did you decide to get the white Craigslist sofa?

just fyi. the couch you found on craigslist very much appears to be a sofa that's missing the slipcover. the frame is upholstered in a basic muslin fabric, and looks unfinished because it normally has a slipcover on top. we would normally not recommend using a sofa without the slipcover, because it's just not made to last. xoxo eva @ monarchsofas.com

Ok, i know i haven't posted anything in a while. But i think i am ready to start decorating, i finally have more money!!! (:

I can't find any slipcovers for the couch. I am actually starting to really like the brown couch, i think i am going to decorate with it! I think right now i am going to start with curtains, and the rest of the paint color for the dinning room. I brought in the curtains from my living room, into the dinning room. What do you guys think? I have to hang them higher, but i think they actually look cool with the wall color in the sitting room. What color should i paint the dinning room, and what curtains should i get in the sitting room?
