My wall color in the family room is Shaker Beige. I just ordered drapes and while I thought I was ordering ivory, they are actually the color "Flax" which means the same color as the wall. We have two chairs that will be a navy and have some earthy colors in the fabric as well (amber, olivey-green, a muted orange and cream). These will sit front of the window on either side of the fireplace. I didn't want to have drapes that were too patterned, but how do I know what to lean toward in design?
