I need some advice on putting curtains up in our family room. There are two windows on either side of the fireplace and then another window perpendicular to the right window. So I ask:

Should I put panels up on all 3 windows or just the 2 windows that frame the fireplace?
If I put up 3, do I need a curved rod?
Do I need to put panels on the patio doors in the dining room too?
Also, I bought some Ikea white curtains to use in our nursery but didn't end up using them. Do you think plain white would look good here? Or should I jazz them up somehow and paint on a design, like horizontal stripes?

A note about the pictures. 1 shows the full view of the room but this is when we had a green accent wall and old decor. The pic with our current decor is a bit cluttered because its during a party. Finally, I have a picture of a welcome banner in my foyer and you can get a sneak peek of the current family room in that picture.
