Hang the tv in the center of the wall instead of the corner. Get her a larger entertainment cabinet to go under the tv and add more storage space. Then the wall opposite of the doors could be a mirror to make the space look bigger. The walls can be painted a light and airy color like a pale yellow or light sea mist green. A rug to bring in a pop of color would be great as well.

What is on the wall facing the glass doors? Is it her kitchen? Since she can't see the TV from the love seat, can you get a storage entertainment center for the love seat wall....maybe something with drawers for storage and her components. Then if you can, find two matching side chairs for either side of the TV that can be pulled up to watch TV. Put the love seat in another room or give it to someone that needs it. You mom seems to be using her dining table for a desk...wish there were some way to incorporate a desk in her room....maybe a small corner one where the file cabinet is.. As for curtains....the blinds are fine.
