We are building a new home in the Texas Hill Country and I'm trying to figure out what to do for the ceilings, whether to texture them or leave them smooth. The house has a few different styles (rounded corner walls, inset windows adobe style, hardwood floors, arches throughout). The walls will be hand troweled texture with a glaze / soft finish. The house could be considered Texas Tuscan, Hill Country, with Spanish influences. I believe we should use flat paint but not sure if we should go with smooth, textured hand trowel or textured knock down for the finish. The color will be the same color as the walls or one shade lighter. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
