thickness of floor with radiant heat?

Hi there we have a low ceiling basement 6'10'' ish we would like to keep the ceiling exposed to gain more space but we want radiant heat for the flooring. There is already a cement floor in place, can you tell me what is the thickness that will be added if we insulate (moisture), put on electric heating mat and ceramic tiles? thanks

Electric heat mats are a great way to add heating to a space without taking up a lot of room with bulky heaters. To answer your question, you should expect to loose anywhere between 1/2" to 1 1/4" depending on the material used. Please remember that you need 7'-0" ceiling heights in most jurisdictions for habitable space. Thanks for your inquiry.
