I doubt you can paint the tiles, so I would tape those off, and spray paint the rest of it.

Check out youtube for videos on how to do it so it looks professional.

Not sure what option you have with the tile inserts. I think they will be fine with a white washed table. Also adding a large, modern centrepiece will enhance the table.

Add board like one by six boards over the top and glue them down maybe sand and stain or whitewash,paint the table with chalk paint unless you have it professionally sprayed ...spray paint does not look good in photos,and Harley ever looks good in person on large items

Not sure of the style and colours you like but it could look beautiful with blue and white mexican tiles and a lacquer white finish on the wood. Accessorise with neutrals and metallics

I say chalk paint! You don't have to sand and it adheres to lots of surfaces with a rock solid bond. You will only need two coats then sand with a fine sanding block and spray with polycrylic. Any latex paint, any color, homemade recipe is 2/3 paint, 1/3 plaster of Paris mixed with water. Look it up online, I've also primed pieces with chalk paint and then spray painted over it. Works better than any primer and once again, you have to prep the piece! Black on those legs would be nice. Once you add the pop, a standard black will be more of a graphite.

BTW I like that you want to save it:). Why buy new? It will be really nice. Oh and have a piece of tempered glass cut for it, use those clear tabs to create space between the glass and surface, easy clean up.

Hopefulgarden, I've never used chalk paint but I think this is the perfect piece for that look. Thank you for the paint recipe, excited to try it. I'll post an after pic. :)

Chalk paint is great. Look in before and afters as there is one with a black chalk paint table similar to yours (not with the tile though).
