I like 65-72", depends on height of user. Be careful not to mount it where you can easily head bonk yourself. I also prefer to mount these opposite of plumb wall. Have you ever considered a recessed niche, see attached pic. Hope that helps. Charmean

Thank you so much for the info. We should have done a recessed mounting but too far into project. I was going to put one in each corner b/c we have so many things. Do you think thats too much? Do you have a place to like to mount the soap caddy?

Two is fine. They're supposed to be functional, so if you need two...mount two. Soap caddy can go wherever convenient, probably best on plumb wall, about same height. Make sure it doesn't get wet in water stream, you don't want any pooling on top.
