Fun to look at but a nightmare to find mattress and bedding for I would imagine. Can recall ever seeing round bed mattresses or bedding.

My baby’s bed was an oval and it looked so cosy and soft and so not like a ‘baby-jail’ - I loved it.
But, for me personally, I answered this question with ‘no’ because it does not fit my particular lifestyle, taste and budget. Nevertheless, having said that, I must qualify that I do not find round beds more tacky or ugly than any other sort of bed. Any bed would be tacky if you surround it with faux fur and drape it in red satin or any other gaudy trappings associated with the horizontal trade.
A round bed set in a bright airy space, preferably floating free in the room and spread with fine linen that is tailored and well fitted could look very svelte. Set in a corner rather than alongside a wall and given a billowing gauze canopy could look very romantic (also useful in mosquito prone areas).
The lack of edges would make for a very non-aggressive look and it probably would be most suited to a harmonious couple who enjoy feeling connected and like to snuggle in the middle of the bed and so do not need a lot of space.
It is an unusual option and has great creative potential, so I hope no one who likes this sort of bed will be discouraged by popular negative opinion about it.
“The fact that an opinion has been widely held is no evidence whatever that it is not utterly absurd.” Bertrand Russell - Smart man!

Had to take your poll. I am surprised that more people are not saying "Yes". Could be because you rarely see round beds! lol! I never do.

Right now I wish I had a round bed because the house we are moving to has a very small master and I feel that a round bed would be perfect. And, though the space will be tight, I think it will work better. They are stylish! I briefly dated a guy that had one with mirrored head boards. I was wondering what sort of statement he was making, lol! I didn't stick around long enough to find out.

I like the way it looks. I would need to sleep in it to form a better idea :)

A very large room will be required for the perfect look, a round bed is appropriate for people who sleep in the fetal position or in the middle of the bed. I like it ....but no thanks:)

    Triangle beds anyone? :)

Can I get it in white leather and hot pink velvet? I'm kidding, purple suede would be better.

A round bed? Gag. They remind me of a cheap hotel or other unmentionable places. Where do you put the quarter?

Update: After looking for a reasonably priced round bed for years, I found one. I've had it for about 4 months now and I'm happy as a clam. Since I'm short, I have not had any problems falling off the bed. I will say that the king sheets don't stay on nearly as well as I'd like so I will be purchasing some round bed sheets eBay.

@ Rona You could get some cali king sheets and sew the fitted sheet to round it. Even if you pay someone it would probably be cheaper. I always thought a round bed was kind of neat. I never had a space that where it would have made sense though.

Difficult to answer this since you rarely see them, few people own them, I never even see sheets that fit, and I cannot actually say I ever slept on one! LoL! On a cruise ship there was a bed that was rounded but not totally. I think if there is enough room without feeling crowded, it would be fine.

I'm 5'10, that's not going to work for me. I like extra room to move around.

I dunno. Not to be blunt and I'm sure some designs are fine, but it just invokes the cheesy 70's porn look. O_O Not that I would know what that looks like...

Whomever designed my condo building have us small, octagonal bedrooms. The advantage is that there's more living space, the disadvantage is that beds are either small or protrude awkwardly into the room. The round bed is huge, comfy and you don't bump into it every time you go from the ensuite to the closet.
Bedding is expensive but the custom mattress was surprisingly reasonable and the frame is 2nd hand so it all came in on budget.
I'm so happy I made this choice

Really don't like them anywhere except Austin Powers!

Still love my round bed. I have had it for 20 years, and recently changed the mattress. I painted it white, (instead on the dark brown wood) and it looks modern as I recently moved.

I put a round bed in a design project I did while in design school, but the bed had a rectangular (king size) mattress and upholstered sides, like one of your photos. It was for a hotel, and I put a round mirror on the ceiling above the bed!
