Stripes, definitely, though I prefer vertical ones. Funny how the pics are both of kids' rooms, lol.

    Stripes.

I like to use both. I love dots and spirals. All of my kids rooms have a mix of stripes and dots.

    Don't make me choose...I love both! : (

OMG....zweilback...that was my EXACT thought! I was always afraid of clowns...and that was long before Stephen King's IT!
They are creepy - aren't they? My clown aversion began long before Stephen King as well. Apparently coulrophobia is fairly common - and Stephen King is probably in our club!

I also had the crap scared out of me in the grocery store as a child. By Mr. Peanut!!!

Stripes are okay, but I don't polka or dot!

I love polka dots, but not on that particular wall paper.

We chose stripes for the little one underway. It goes well with the stripe wallpaper. Thanks Houzz for the inspiration

I would also like to use both stripes and polka dots, which makes the good combination.

I like to use Stripes in my works

Stripes, but still, have never blatantly used in any design. Polka dots are associated with young teenage girls.

    Hi!

We like the look of both stripes and polka dots, especially for a kids bedroom. You can check out our blog on stripes and polka dots showing the different variations we have.

bungalowmo, I had to laugh about Mr. Peanut. My son was terrified by a giant twinkie! Then the next time we went shopping, there was a Frosty the snowman, who kept trying to give us a candy cane. I was dealing with my young son, trying to climb out of the cart and I was trying my best to ignore Frosty. I kept going down aisle after aisle trying to avoid him/her. LOL

Now on topic, I like both stripes or polka dots but usually on pillows or a comforter, but not on my walls. I do like some of the nice examples on here.

My daughter, now 27, got totally freaked out by someone dressed up as an Easter Bunny at about age 5.

Clowns never bothered me until I encountered one up close at the circus at about age 4 or 5. I could see his wrinkled neck and hairy ears, and for some reason, the awareness that it was a man disguised as a clown terrified me out of my wits. I wanted nothing to do with them after that. Maybe that's why I prefer stripes?

I love polka dots! In general stripes are my basic "go to" but I love mixing in polka dots .
could go either way depending on color

Neither for the house. Both for clothing.
Both is nice but for some reason I just love the stripes :)
I"m not really crazy about either one. I like round motifs, and I like stripes, but not these two.
Neither. And no chevrons nor herringbone either. They're all too 50's/preppy for my taste.

If stripes are subtle they can be elegant. But high contrast ones are distracting.

    I like both!
