Pretty room. I would say something to match the color of your chairs.

Add a dark sultry gray-blue pulled from your piece of artwork. Also, check what tone or accent colour is in your china table setting, pull an accent colour out of your dishes so that
when you set the table for that special occasion - the room comes alive with vibrant colour.
Don't have any colour in your dishes? Then think outside the box - get either drapery that is multi-coloured, and pull a seasonal colour from them for your table setting with candles, fresh flowers etc. The dining room is a place to celebrate - have fun - add colour!

I would add a pop of color with a print that includes turquoise.

I would go with a yellow and grey pattern.

A light color will look pretty washed out..... I think you're on the right track with a darker color. It'll give you nice contrast. You're pretty neutral in that room so you're pretty open to colors. I'm all for a striking rug under the dining table as well.

I think you need patterned or light color curtains. Something that feels cozy. A new light for sure and a larger piece of art, or just frame the on you have in a warm wood.

You can also think of these patterns, which will also look nice.

a subtle tone on tone print or wide stripe could be gorgeous, but a subtle, sophisticated color could also be stunning! i might consider a rich steely gray-blue curtain panel in a fabric with a little sheen in which could add a hint of glam color here. then add plenty of large scaled wall art and maybe an oversized, white, drum shaded pendant light fixture.

Since your walls are dark, a window treatment lighter than the wall color, would be more favorable.

I wouldn't hang a rod over each window, but use one long rod across both. A light blue or gold silk or lined linen drapery (puddled if you want) would be so pretty. Consider wallpaper on the upper half of the walls, as that would really pull the whole room together and create impact.
