Start by painting the garage and front doors. Garage door should be similar in color to the siding, but not the same. Front door should be bright and not white.

Cannot tell the siding color from photo, so will not suggest a specific color.

What type of siding?

I am attaching a different image that hopefully makes it a little easier to see the color (its somewhat sage/green). The siding is vinyl.

Pretty green with white trim. Here I would leave the garage to echo the windows but paint entry door only a happy shade. Maybe take a sage gray stain to the wood steps to front door - wash them with watered down paint (bm rolling hills cut with 1/2 water). Eggplant or plum purple would be great with the green and fun. Your lines are sort of quasi modern, quasi saltbox so going modern with an unusual door color that can be echoed with purple flower plantings would be my tack. Carry it further by planting a redbud or purple plum or japanese maple tree / echo the bronze tones in your foliage too . . .

Again, echo door color in planting flower shades. The more nuanced dijon to russet to reds are too off with this green and white for me so I'd choose from the brighter elements above.

A barn like / gooseneck arm fixture where the security fixture is over the garage would be nicer . . they have them that aim out and down so the height isn't so off . . .as would sconces that came down instead of went up since the boxes flankng doors are also too high on the wall . . .all those in black would be fine and crisp with roof .. . the current light fixtures are too small too high . . . they have pretty ones with the trigger so they come on for security now . . .modern font house numbers in black don't have a good place to sit and be really additive .. maybe to right of front door in 5" size under light

The way the house ratchets back, I wouldn't do shutters since it will only work at garage and distance that elevation from others visually . someone will suggest them over the garage - alone I like the way that ties to the rest . . you could beef up trim (wider - really fat 10" wide in white around all windows and doors) around all the windows that are now just sort of self flashing (that is a big job but would yield great rewards).

This is a charming and lovely house . . not plain, but classic! congrats and enjoy your new abode.

I can't remember everything libradesigneye said but i agree on the lights outside the front door in that that they are too high up. Lower them 25 % and see what happens after night falls. If providing not enough light then maybe increase wattage of bulb first. If their design design prohibits light from flaring first off then yes replace the entire fixtures

You have a very nice house to work with. Painting the front door and improving the front porch/portico (as suggested by Curt), would be the top two things on my go to list. To be honest, I'd replace the front door with a beautiful solid wood door with a window, and in a stain that enhances the sage green color. I would also improve the front steps -- perhaps use a brick veneer or redo them in full brick or stone. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the steps look unfinished -- are they plywood boards?

I would paint the garage door which would make it fade back a bit and hopefully make front door more prominent. I agree with a few of the others on lowering the lights, watching the watts so that it's not glaring, add more substantial columns and get a door with windows and paint it an appropriate color to make it the first thing someone is drawn to when they look at the home. Add flowers of complementary colors in pots! Cute!!

Thank you everyone for great suggestions. We are actually considering redoing the porch steps and walkway in bluestone. (Once I manage to convince DH to spent $$!). This being said, Would it be better to paint the front door bright color or go for solid wood look?

That is a personal choice - stain would be more traditional / paint more personality . . bluestone would be great on porch. You might paint while you consider the cost of a new stain grade door (don't get craftsman go cottage if you head that way - match the window muntin pattern on top half of door) . . .or if there is something higher on your priority list.
