Paint is SO going to be your friend! Honestly, my first instinct would be to get a coat or two of white primer on everything in the room - walls, trim, cabinets - and then look at it as a blank palette.

A few questions:
1) do you need two refrigerators in this space? If you don't, get rid of the one by the stove. That way, you could slide the stove to the right and add some new cabinets and add counter space.
2) do the floor and counters need to stay? If so, they need to be the starting point for your colors.

Cool! Your house came with its own beer fridge.I hope you have a garage you can stash it in,great for parties. So my secret for painting kitchen cabinets is to use exterior paint. I didn't even take the doors off and it came out great, of course you should wash yours with tsp first. Depending on the colors of your leather couches would probably help to determine your color scheme, black couches, charcoal grey for bottom cabs light grey for uppers. Keep that corner shelf white and white walls and a new floor and have at it! Congrats on home ownership!

Congratulations on your new house. Three things to consider: 1-get copies of any building permits that have been issued from city hall; 2-address the safety issue of the wood above the gas stove by figuring out where the stove is really supposed to go (hint: often where a fridge now is sitting- look at the ceiling to find some evidence of ventilation); 3- test for lead paint.

If you want the new paint color to look really good, pick a color that goes with the flooring. This means at least two trips to the paint store. If you have a scrap of the flooring, take it with you. If not, pick up a lot of tan paint chips, at home figure out the best matches to the existing flooring, circle them, and discard the rest. Then go back to the paint store and pick up a couple dozen paint colors that more or less go with the flooring. Once you get them home, pick two or three that coordinate well. Buy samples to put on foamcore.
