You will get many answers here. The design side will suggest working with a "single flooring option" on each level (kitchens and baths are excempt from this rule). You will get homeowner/renovators saying two different woods can work very well so long as you stick with the same colour family. There are tricks to adding a second colour/wood species into a space. The most common transition is a decorative transition (wood inlay using both colours) between spaces that will help the two different woods "shake hands". It also adds a decorative accent and a "reason" for there to be two different woods on a single level.

I guess another question becomes, "How many different flooring types do you have on this level or in your home overall?". If you only have the 2 different types (cherry wood and tile) then switching out the tile to another wood is still reasonable. If you have 3 or more different floors/colours you might want to try keeping it simple and reduce the amount of flooring types you have.
