My personal taste only, but I find bright yellow works for a guest room or a young person's room vs a master. Teal and a deeper yellow used in a very miminal way is more elegant. Can your bed work on another way, so that you can have tall lamps on both sides and you could paint behind the bed a deep teal color. You might want to remove the bedskirt as it will be more modern without it. Add great pillows and a teal throw at the end of the bed and maybe an area rug. It looks like you want a very sophisticated unique look. This can be achieved by putting white sheets on the bed, hospital corners (like your inspiration picture). Throw over a teal or yellow quilt as pictured.

put a pair of tall teal lamps on your nightstand which should be clear of everything except a lamp and a small tray. Make or buy some lively curtains with both teal and yellow in it like the fabric pictured, with a bit darker yellow. Add some nice yellow pillows and your done!

Decorgirly: It would take some convincing to get my husband to paint lol. I was wondering if turquoise might fight with the paint colour less.

Hi! I found a couple pillows and these curtains. They go from light to dark on the bottom. Slightly less boring lol? I still need a white duvet cover. The teal just did not work so I opted for the orange ish. I saw dark orange curtains too - real heavy fabric but I think I like the lighter colour. Thoughts?

I took coverlet off so you can see white look...

Curtain color look good but need to be nice full not sheer curtains, maybe 2, with the curtain rod higher and extending past the window frame as in this picture. It gives it a full luxurious look.
