We are doing a whole house renovation and need to replace about 2/3 of the 1950s windows that are in horrible condition. They are in many shapes and sizes. With the number and other expenses, of course costs are a major consideration. We live in central Texas where it is HOT in the summer but there are multiple large shade trees that surround the property. I am also interested in sound abatement from street noise. Any thoughts on vinyl versus fiberglass? I'd love to do steel but that is not in the budget.
