Exterior entry

In efforts to improve the entry to our home, we replaced the front entry door. I have tried 3 different paint colors on the wood siding around the door, but I have not been able to find the right color--everything is too orange or too brown, just not "it."
Any suggestions for colors are appreciated. I am considering a lighter color, but I am worried about the color looking yellow.
Also, I am considering changing the trim around the door.
I would paint the door if it would help:). Seriously, anything.

I like the look of a dark door (dark brown, black or dark gray) with white trim (or the light cream color you have on your garage door) for this type of exterior. I think the addition of some light trim work could really enhance your entryway and the extra detailing would make a nice transition from the wood work to the brickwork. Maybe extend the step outward to create a larger landing and surface with slate. Or if funds are an issue, additional landscaping using symmetrical and more vertical shapes that frame the outside of the entry would help give your home more curb appeal. Maybe taller urns that match the door or trim. Here are some ideas for inspiration.

Have you considered a totally different direction and go with a rusty red or something similar....make it stand out? What is your goal with the color? The dark brown in the photo looks nice and blends well. What do you not like about it?

I think it looks really nice, but you could go with a soft grey for the siding and a dark grey for the door. If you add larger planters and an outdoor mat, they will create more interest for your entryway as well.

Hello mama5678, seems you like black going by your black light fixtures & pots, why not paint the siding black?!You could use glittery metal fixtures & accents as a contrast!! Changing the door trim to a contrast of black could also help accentuate your entranceway!

Bespoke homes -are you suggesting the door be repainted rusty red or the siding?
I would prefer to leave the door brown as well as the fixtures (which we sprayed ORB because they were faded) since it is easiest to paint the siding.
My goal- I want an inviting, warmer entry. Clean and classic.
The original color was very yellow toned. I tried a grey based tan--too grey. I have tried orange tans- they look pinkish when the sun hits the siding.

Ppf. I was going to get new garage door eventually, but that will be at least a year out. Thanks for the suggestion. I will paint the garage doors the same color as the wood siding. I really like your color suggestions as well.

Thanks for recommending new urns. I would not have though of that, and I think it will be impactful. Also, I am now considering changing the trim around the door to the same lighter color we chose to paint the wood siding.

I would say keep the trim (to match rest of trim) & door brown. Also, would paint siding same color as garage now or very close to that color, leaning towards the whites family. Or you can say,The very lightest color of brick, ivory, I think.

I am going to do something about the concrete step after I paint the siding. I am going to paint the garage doors now too.
I will have to add another step in front of the door because the one step is way too high. I like the idea of fanning out the step to make it more impactful. I love slate, so what an awesome idea.

I would remove the urns and let the beautiful lights be the decor in this space. Maybe just trying THAT will make you happy. I like the brown doors and the siding looks great with the brick. Clean off the step and find a great mat instead.
