Flooring Dilema

We are building a house and are having trouble deciding on what flooring to use from Shaws Castlewood Collection. We have all java birch cabinetry, lg minuet (carerra looking marble, white subway backsplash, light/medium grey walls, and black doors. We originally were thinking the drawbridge flooring but now are leaning towards the tower. Link below. Please weigh in, we have a toddler and more on the way and also a dog. Thanks!!

Hi Barry - Sounds like you have a lot going on! Darker flooring can be beautiful - but dark floors need more maintenance in the sense that they will show every single little bit of dust & debris.

I dealt with this same dilemma in my "City Glamour" Project - we opted for a lighter grey hardwood. You can see the light floors in the Kitchen, Butler Pantry and Wet Bar: http://www.houzz.com/projects/646430/city-glamour

Since you have pets, I think you are smart in considering the Tower finish.

Interesting. I am going through the same question with a new build. We are putting in white cabinets. The tower sample looked so much lighter compared to online, however. It was almost white. What did you decide?
