We live in a 250 year old cottage with walls more than three feet thick. The electric sockets in each room are totally inadequate, not enough and in the wrong place. No hope of Rewiring. I would like to know if it's possible to have a stylish, well designed table or floor lamp that is run by a battery. I'm sure there must be many people like me who would love to place lamps at just the right place in their rooms but can't do so because there is no handy socket. So why are there no battery operated lamps? Please somebody, come up with a solution. I'll be the first customer.
