Quartzite Slate natural stone. Has a slip resistant finish.

Porcelain tile comes in many diferent grades of slip resistance. You can achieve the look of natural stone without the maintenance.

Any thoughts on wood flooring? Was originally thinking of wide plank reclaimed wood...?

HI - The pool house sounds nice. You could have natural stone floors or concrete ( aggragate or stamped w/ electric under heating . Or you could put in Trex decking boards - it will look like wood without the fuss and will last forever. There is also a wood that is used for outdoors or interiors called Epay ( sp?). My concern with the reclaimed wood is slivers in wet feet. Or anything that can be used out on the patio and pool surround is good to have in a pool house.

Did I mention that we're in NY and this building will not be heated in the winter. We have to be concerned with freezing. Ugh. Thanks for the suggestions thus far!

You need to be sure the tile you pick is freeze/thaw stable..most through body porcelins are. Stone is not....it cracks.

Quartzite Slate is suitable as is any Porcelain tile for unheated areas. You must use a thin set that will take freeze thaw such as Mapei Kerabond/Keralastic

HI - Being you live in NY as you said - I said electric in floor heating in my earlier comment. That would work for you. And you could also get one of the new portable fireplaces they have now. That would be an extra source of heat and they look real and have any style you would want.

Did you ever use wide planked reclaimed wood? We'd like to also use wide planked wood in our poolhouse and paint it a fun aqua color....make it feel like a Maine cottage......we live in Massachusetts and will NOT have heating in the poorhouse for the winter...
