Hello, I can see a pale blue-gray or green-gray looking very nice in your space. Maybe have a look at Ben Moore Whirlpool, Oyster Shell, Glass Slipper or Mountain Mist? It really depends on your countertop choice, and what color you paint the brick.

Btw, I am curious to know why the hole in the middle of the island? It looks like you could have squeezed in one more cabinet on that side, but I'm sure you have your reasons why not?

I made the island out of a spare pantry cabinet (cut it down) and an old china cabinet. they were different depths, therefore the hole. the countertop for the island is going to be maple. the granite has gold and brown tones. so there is a lot of brown. I need something to brighten the kitchen up. what color would you paint the brick?

Would it be possible to see a close-up of the countertop?

Also, is the color of the island charcoal? Or just a very dark black-a brown? On my monitor, it appears to have a bluish tint.

I would paint the brick a cream or bisque color, so that it will reflect some light.
